Congress Renews IRA Rollover Provisions
Submitted: November, 2008
The IRA charitable rollover was a tax incentive in effect in 2006 and 2007 that allowed individuals aged 70-1/2 and older to donate up to $100,000 per year from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and Roth IRAs to public charities without having to count the distributions as taxable income. This provision was extended as part of the "bail-out" legislation for distributions made in 2008 and 2009.
