Library Instruction
The MTS–Michigan Library currently offers two instructional courses designed to introduce students to completing course assignments and performing general research using the MTS–Michigan Library.
Library 101 is designed to introduce the student to the MTS–Michigan Library, the staff, the collection and basic research at MTS–Michigan.
Library 201 is designed to introduce the student to the basic electronic resources offered by MTS–Michigan and the basic skills to best utilize these resources. While these courses are offered every semester in the library, the curriculum to these courses is easy to follow and available online.
Each of these courses are offered by the MTS–Michigan Library staff during the first few weeks of every semester. Special sessions of the instructional seminars can be arranged at anytime by contacting the library staff. The curriculum of the courses are provided here in pdf format and fairly self-explanatory. Library 101: Introduction to Research at MTS–Michigan is designed to introduce the student to performing research at Moody Theological Seminary–Michigan. Academic success requires the student to possess the ability to adequately perform research in the fields of theology, Biblical studies and psychology. To develop as a researcher the student must learn to take advantage of the electronic, print and human resources available at MTS–Michigan. Library 101 will assist in this effort.
Library 201: Introduction to Electronic Research is designed to introduce the student to performing research at Moody Theological Seminary–Michigan using the available electronic resources. Academic success at MTS–Michigan requires the student to possess the ability to adequately perform research in the fields of theology, Biblical studies and psychology. The electronic resources provided will assist the student in these pursuits.
