Dr. Fong Announces Interim Academic Dean

One of the responsibilities on my plate this summer is to address the vacant Academic Dean’s office. That is a key role for our seminary and a replacement would be necessary for MTS to continue its excellence in academic training. This role is vital to the carrying out of our Mission statement. Such an individual must have the heart of God’s call that raised up MTS, the trust of the faculty that he oversees and the confidence of the administration that directs the course of the institution. That is a massive load for any one person to carry.

Before I make such an appointment, I need to cover all of our current academic bases. In order to prevent a hasty decision, the day-to-day operations of the AD Office had to be assumed by a capable individual. I am very pleased to announce that Professor Raju Kunjummen has accepted my invitation to serve as the Interim Academic Dean of MTS. His service will begin on August 1, 2008 and continue for at least one year or until a permanent appointment to this post is made.
